Turning rain into play

It has been raining here for what seems like 4 weeks solid - enough to put us into flood warning over and over again! So, of course, on one of our first sunshine days we head to the park and what does our little man find but the biggest puddle there - right under the slide! What makes this really cute is all the other kids were too scared to touch it (or been told no) and so they would not slide or go near the water. Here goes my little man, no fear, just fun -  down the slide - SPLASH  - and the others follow. By the time we left most, if not all the kids were splashing and sliding. Here's to my leader of the pack - for unstoppable joy!

"That's my Kitty!"

I have to publish this quickly because I don't know how much longer that statement will be true , but for now that is one of the most adorable sentences that comes out of my two year old son's mouth! This kitty found it's way onto my husband's lap and therefore into our home. It is 5 weeks old - free from all kitty diseases (says the vet - oh yes  - it saw the vet before my kids touched it!) and absolutely adorable. So, you ask - why not keep the kitty? Well that is the debate. Johnathon in his loving way practically chokes the kitty every time he picks it up - even after being shown and told how to hold our kitty. Then, today Evelyn was eating her eggs and the kitty accidently bit her toe - welp that did it for me. So, for now it's my little man's kitty, but we'll see if it stays our kitty.

In the Light

Our windows give us amazing light. These pictures remind me of the old DC Talk song, in the light. "that's where I want to be..In the light".. I pray that's where my kids stay!

Cantata

Where do I begin? My last post was the end of March - April was one crazy month! We managed to have the completion of three major projects by April 15th - taxes, Dave Ramsey (we were leading a session), and the cantata. Of the latter they will be pictures plenty. In light of being insanely busy, the cantata was such an amazing journey. My husband has played the Lord in both the past cantata (3 years ago -aka before Johnathon) and this year. It's amazing to me how many people come up to be and tell me how well he does at the roll - but what truly blew me away was this year on Sunday night - I got to watch him. WOW. I stand in awe at what God did thru and in my husband. No amount of pictures will ever do this justice. So, despite the fact that we are basking in our "break" from utter insanity, we will always be ready to serve - because out of serving comes the biggest blessings.
And yes, that is our daughter Evelyn in her debut role:)!
